almaz wilson is an interdisciplinary artist and therapist whose work focuses on the intersections of connection, memory, and identity. her work explores collections of cultural, political, and spiritual memory through painting, sculpture, and performance. wilson’s practice is centered on honoring lived social-emotional experiences of conscious grief, joy, and longing. her process-based approach to artmaking resists the urge to contextualize works too neatly, and instead affirms the multiplicity and possibility inherent in the work.
almaz received an mfa from university of florida in 2018 and an MA in counseling and expressive arts therapy from lesley university in 2026. her therapeutic work at community-centered trauma solutions and the center for resilience strategies focuses on supporting people through personal experiences and inter-generational histories within a broader social context. almaz welcomes individuals and groups impacted by trauma and systemic barriers who want to re-connect with their authentic selves. her practice offers tools to process and alchemize life’s experiences through visual art, music, movement, and writing to discover liberatory practices for self-regulation, belonging, and well-being.
